Privacy Policy
This page says what Dapper Cactus Media collects, why, who handles it, and what you can ask us to do with it. The short version: we collect what we need to reply to you and run your website, we do not sell it, and this site has no cookies and no analytics.
1. Who we are
Dapper Cactus Media is a web design and hosting business in Lubbock, Texas, owned by Justin. Questions about this policy go to help@dappercactus.com.
2. What we collect
The contact form. Your name, email address, what your business is, and your phone number if you choose to give it. The form is delivered by FormSubmit to justin@dappercactus.com.
Email. Whatever you write to us, and our replies.
If you become a client. The content you give us for your site, your business details, and your billing details. Billing is handled by Stripe. Stripe keeps your card details; we see your name, email, the card brand and last four digits, and whether payments went through. We never see your full card number.
Server logs. Vercel, which hosts this site and client sites, keeps standard server logs: the address your device connects from, the pages and files requested, the time, and your browser type. We look at them only to keep sites running and secure.
Cookies and analytics. This site sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Stripe’s checkout and customer portal pages are run by Stripe and may set their own cookies there.
3. Why we collect it
- To reply to you and talk about your website.
- To build, host, update and support your site.
- To bill the subscription and keep the records a business has to keep.
- To keep sites secure and deal with abuse.
- To meet legal obligations.
4. Who handles it
We share your information only with the services that do a job for us, and only what that job needs:
- FormSubmit, which delivers contact form messages to us.
- Stripe, which handles subscription payments and your online account menu.
- Vercel, which hosts this site and client sites.
- Our email provider, which carries our email.
- Domain registrars, when we register or transfer a domain for your site.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising. We would disclose it if the law required us to.
5. How long we keep it
Contact form messages and emails are kept as long as we need them to reply and, if you become a client, for as long as you are one. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Vercel keeps its server logs for a limited time under its own retention policy. When you ask us to delete something (section 7), we delete it unless one of those reasons means we have to keep it.
6. Security
This site and client sites are served over HTTPS. Card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our systems. Access to the information we hold is limited to the people who need it to do the work. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, and we cannot promise that it is.
7. Your rights
You can ask us, at any time:
- What personal information we hold about you.
- To correct it.
- To delete it, unless we have to keep it for billing or legal reasons.
- To stop using it for a particular purpose.
If you live in California, you have the right to know what we collect and why, to have it deleted or corrected, and not to be treated differently for asking. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. To use any of these rights, email help@dappercactus.com. We will answer within 45 days.
8. Children
This site and our services are for businesses and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you think we have, email us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page, with the date at the top. If a change matters to clients, we will email you about it.
